If you have ever been to a Mexican restaurant or tried any of the other delicious recipes for tacos I have written about here before, then you know how much I love to chicken soup. I use it frequently as well. I love the taste of it along with the blend of veggies and mild spices that it has. It is always quick and easy, and is great for parties too! Let’s talk about making this fantastic soup.
First of all, you will need to gather some ingredients. I usually keep some frozen veggies like carrots and celery on hand, since they are easy to prepare and easy to find (especially in the frozen vegetable aisle at the grocery store). I also have a bottle of cream of mushroom soup from my stock, along with a packet of instant pot noodles. I prefer noodles, but crock pot chicken noodle soup can be used as well. Both are great options.
Now you just need to start cooking and stirring your ingredients together. You can do this in your slow cooker if it is large enough, or in your ordinary kitchen sink. Bring your soup to a gentle boil, and then add your desired flavorings. I usually like to add some cheddar cheese and chives. You can also use hot pepper sauce, hot sauce, or ground pepper. As you can see, depending on the type of peppers you use, the amounts of ingredients can vary greatly.
Once you have added all of your ingredients, stir them until smooth and creamy. Then, add your crock pot’s lid and set it to high. Give your crockpot a couple of minutes to heat up. When it is ready, you can now add your keto chicken taco soup into it. Stir to combine. Continue to stir constantly until your soup has blended well.
Once that is done, take your prepared soup and your favorite tortilla and place it over the mixture. You may want to cover the whole thing in some sort of taco seasoning. This helps maintain the flavors that you have added. This makes a wonderful base for your own original flavorings. If you wish, you may even add your own herbs and spices, if you like.
Toppings for keto chicken taco soup are generally just whatever you would want to use. Chicken thighs are okay, as are hamburger and steak cubes. Some people even like to add tomatoes and jalapenos to their recipes, but try to stay away from those items if possible. They are not necessary to the low carb dieting and certainly are not tasty.
Shredded cheese is an item that many people enjoy, and if this is one of your standards you are happy to know that it is actually very easy to make using the directions for shredded cheese in your recipes. All you need to do is cut up about two cups of cubed cheddar cheese. In a separate bowl, you will need about one tablespoon of sour cream, and another one or two forks to be able to crack and shred the cheese. Then, all you need to do is transfer the mixture into your slow cooker and set it to cook on low for about eight to ten hours.
Once done, you will have a great base for your own brand of soup. Just mix in whatever you want and enjoy your delicious soup. Of course, the chicken that you use will also contribute to the quality and taste. So, if you are looking to find a solid and delicious low carb chicken soup recipe, you should give the shredder recipe a try. You won’t be disappointed.
